Unemployment insurance is a state benefit that provides workers, who lose their jobs through no fault of their own, with weekly unemployment payments.
To apply for unemployment benefits, you must fulfill all three of these requirements:
- Be unemployed or working less than full-time
- Be ready and looking for work
- Have worked in the last 18 months
