Medical plans

Health care coverage is one of the most important benefits the university offers you. It pays for many of the costs of medical care for you and your family. You can choose from two types of medical plans: a preferred provider organization (PPO), the USC Network Medical Plan; or a health maintenance organization (HMO), either Kaiser Permanente or Anthem Blue Cross HMO. Verdugo Hills employees, as well as union-represented employees from across the university, can view their medical plan options on their own pages.

Dental plans

Dental plans pay a large portion of dental care costs for you and your covered dependents. You can choose between two plans: Delta Dental, a PPO which has an annual maximum; or United Concordia, a dental HMO. Verdugo Hills employees, as well as union-represented employees from across the university, can view their medical plan options on their own pages.

Vision care

Vision Service Plan (VSP) offers benefit coverage for routine eye exams, lenses, and frames/contacts. Employees may purchase this coverage in addition to their medical plan.

Long term care

Not to be confused with disability insurance, which pays a portion of your salary should you become disabled, long term care insurance provides additional coverage intended to complement your health care plan.
