Paid time off

Vacation 

  • During their first four years of service, employees accrue 12 vacation days a year with a maximum of 24 days. In the fifth through ninth year, they accrue 18 days a year, to a maximum of 36. And with ten or more years of service, employees accrue 24 days a year, to a maximum of 48

Sick 

  • Staff accrue up to 12 paid sick days, at the rate of one day per month, which can also be used to care for sick (immediate) family members

Holidays

  • USC recognizes 9 holidays per year

Winter Recess

  • Most departments at the university close between the Christmas and New Year’s holidays

  • USC provides leave for bereavement, jury duty and voting
